As a software Builder at Airship, I have the privilege of working alongside our clients and crew to solve challenging real-world problems. I also have the opportunity to both teach and learn from world-class developers. I don’t think anything could be more fulfilling!
Although the signs were there early (I broke several 486 PCs as a kid trying to make games run faster), I didn’t find my calling until my late twenties, after a brief stint as an English professor and another as a screenwriter. While managing a small portfolio of film websites, I realized I’d rather be writing code than movies. I haven’t looked back since.
I met the love of my life, Rachel, on a backpacking trip in college. We now have four beautiful children and have been married for over a decade. I spend the majority of my weekends coaching little league teams and flipping flapjacks, but when I have a moment to myself, you might find me reading an old book, working on woodcraft projects in my Dad’s garage, or playing disc golf at a local park.
I hold a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma, and two bachelor’s degrees (English, Political Science) from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK. I was also fortunate to study Philosophy at the University of Oxford, UK.
